HiGrids origins

HiGrids was recently established following an initiative of a working group of the Dutch government and the private sector. HiGrids forms an element of the larger Platform for Sustainable Mobility, established by the Dutch government. 

This Dutch Platform for Sustainable Mobility has identified three mayor (potential) transitions towards a more sustainable transport system, being cleaner transport fuels, cleaner cars (traction concepts) and cleaner use.

HiGrids is focused at this last pillar. The key objective of the HiGrids Foundation is to accelerate the market introduction of concepts of cleaner and more efficient use of roads. Because of its mission and public-private origins HiGrids is well positioned to shape a pan-EU alliances platform to facilitate this type of transition processes towards mode hybridisation.
